Community guidelines

How we expect participants to work together and communicate in our learning community.

Our values

Lock in with Olúmáyòwá is built on respect, collaboration, and mutual support. We expect all participants to contribute to a positive learning environment where everyone can grow.

Communication standards

Be respectful

Treat all participants, mentors, and staff with respect. Use inclusive language and be mindful of different backgrounds, experiences, and skill levels.

Be constructive

When providing feedback or asking questions, be specific and helpful. Focus on learning and improvement rather than criticism.

Be professional

Maintain a professional tone in all communications. Avoid offensive language, personal attacks, or inappropriate content.

Be responsive

Respond to messages and requests in a timely manner. If you need more time, communicate your availability clearly.

Collaboration and peer support

Share knowledge

Help fellow participants when you can. Share resources, explain concepts, and celebrate each other's progress.

Respect intellectual property

Do not share copyrighted materials, proprietary code, or confidential information. Always attribute sources and respect others' work.

Maintain confidentiality

Keep discussions and shared materials within the programme community. Do not share private conversations or cohort-specific information publicly.

Participation expectations

  • Attend scheduled mentor sessions and cohort meetings
  • Submit assignments and projects by deadlines
  • Engage actively in peer discussions and group activities
  • Communicate proactively if you encounter challenges or need support

Unacceptable behaviour

The following behaviours are not tolerated and may result in removal from the programme:

  • Harassment, discrimination, or bullying of any kind
  • Sharing malicious code, illegal content, or engaging in unethical hacking activities
  • Plagiarism or submitting work that is not your own
  • Spam, self-promotion, or solicitation without permission
  • Violation of platform terms or applicable laws

Reporting concerns

If you experience or witness behaviour that violates these guidelines, please contact the programme lead immediately. All reports will be handled confidentially and appropriately.
